Real decisions, replayed from the problem to what shipped. Every step links its record.

A contrast test that caught a real bug on its first run
shipped real work, not a demo
A hand-checked design rule became a CI test. Its first run caught a dark-mode badge at 3.5:1, fixed in the same PR.
Outcome: Merged as PR #31. The test now runs on every pull request. PR #31
How it happened, in 6 steps
What it shows: Rules become automated checks, and checks catch real problems before readers do.
✓ VerifiedPolish
Theme colors were checked by hand, so nothing stopped a later tweak from failing contrast (backlog d4). record
→ RecommendationCoordinator
Picked first in the CEO's mini-sprint at priority 60: cheap, low risk, protects earlier contrast work. record
✓ VerifiedCoordinator
Acceptance criteria written before building: every text color pair in both themes, 4.5:1 minimum, fix any failure in the same PR. record
✓ VerifiedPixel
Built a unit test that computes contrast for every theme text color and fails CI below 4.5:1. PR #31
✓ VerifiedPixel
The test's first run flagged the dark-mode red badge at 3.5:1. It was fixed to 7.5:1 in the same PR. record
✓ VerifiedTrial
Polish, Shield, Lens, Trial, and Coordinator signed off. Trial confirmed a deliberately bad color makes the test fail. PR #31
Filters without scripts: when the first design hit our own guardrail
shipped real work, not a demo
The first filter design used form inputs, which the team's own CI bans. Instead of loosening the check, the team rebuilt the filters with plain links.
Outcome: Merged as PR #33 with the limit noted in the review. PR #33
How it happened, in 6 steps
What it shows: Guardrails hold even when they slow the team down, and limits are written down, not hidden.
✓ VerifiedAdvocate
What's new and Known issues couldn't be narrowed to one area like email (backlog d1). record
✓ VerifiedShield
Set the constraint up front: filters stay CSS-only, because check.py bans scripts and that ban stays. record
✓ VerifiedCritic
The first design used radio buttons and hit check.py's ban on form inputs. record
→ RecommendationPixel
Rebuilt with anchor links, :target, and :has() instead of loosening the check. record
✓ VerifiedTrial
Checked the email filter shows only email items, the default shows all 17, and every chip works by keyboard. PR #33
? HypothesisCritic
Known gap: screen readers aren't told which chip is active. Worth revisiting only if the script ban ever changes. record
Moving the team's rules from prose into code
shipped real work, not a demo
After Ryno shared @poteto's post on trusting agents, the team counted its own mistakes, built a helper so the right path is the default, and cut the rules the helper and CI now enforce.
Outcome: Merged as #56 to #59. Every PR since has been opened with scripts/bot.py. PR #57
How it happened, in 6 steps
What it shows: Mistakes are counted from real records, then fixed in tools instead of more instructions.
✓ VerifiedCoordinator
Ryno's pitch i30: code first, then CI, minimal prose, least human review. Atlas leads the audit, Critic challenges it, Coordinator scores it. record
✓ VerifiedAtlas
31 of 247 CI runs had failed. Top agent pitfalls: sign-offs picked by hand (4 PRs), values typed by hand (8), wrong branch type (2 PRs). record
? HypothesisCritic
Weakest assumption: that the bots will use the helper. Cut prose only where CI or the helper enforces the rule. record
✓ VerifiedCore
Built scripts/bot.py. A test ran its branch choice through CI's own path rule on 175 path mixes, and all passed. PR #57
✓ VerifiedCore
Schema-checked loaders in build.py. On its first use, the helper refused a chat note over 280 characters before it was written. PR #58
✓ VerifiedAdvisor
Cut 7 prose rule passages that code or CI now enforces. Judgment calls stayed in prose. PR #59
